Can I bring my kids?
Yes. The Harvest Classic is a family friendly event. Kids under 12 get in free. Many of us have kids, and we work hard to insure that the environment is as safe and kid-friendly as possible.

How do I register for the Harvest Classic?
  1. Register online at www.harvestclassic.org
  2. Download, print, and complete registration form, then send it on with the registration fee.
  3. Register onsite when you show up in Luckenbach.

Why should I pre-register?
We like it when people pre-register, because it helps us to better plan for the event, and gives us a little up-front money to help cover insurance, t-shirt printing, and other rally-related expenses.

I pre-registered online. What’s next?
You will receive a confirmation e-mail. Your packet (including t-shirt) will be waiting for you at the registration table at the rally. In order to save money, we don’t send out a snail mail confirmation.

I sent in my registration form by snail mail. What’s next?
If you sent in your registration form prior to the Oct 7 cutoff date, your packet (including t-shirt) will be waiting for you at the registration table at the rally. We don’t send out a confirmation letter, as the postage costs money that we’d rather send to the Candlelighters.
^ top
I didn’t pre-register, but I want to attend the rally.
That’s no problemo! Just come on down and you can register when you show up.
^ top
I can only come out for one day. Which day should I attend?
Friday is pretty much for setting up camp, and visiting with other rally-goers. It’s very low key. Saturday is THE DAY. All events happen on Saturday, so don’t miss it. On Sunday, we have a breakfast ride, then everybody packs up, goes home, and collapses.

I pre-registered, but didn’t attend the rally. Can you mail me my shirt and rally packet?
Sure. Just send us a letter, with $5 enclosed to cover the postage, and we’d be happy to send you your rally packet and shirt.

Is anyone making money off the Harvest Classic?
No. The Harvest Classic is put together by a group of friends. We call ourselves the Central Texas Motorcycle Charities. None of us get paid. We do this because we want to make a difference in the lives of families who are living with childhood cancer. All money raised after expenses is donated to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer program of Any Baby Can.

Can I bring my own alcohol to the Harvest Classic?
No. Luckenbach does not allow any alcoholic beverages to be brought in.

Can I bring my guitar and golden throat to the Harvest Classic?
Music is the backbone of Luckenbach. Just ask yourself one question. What would Willie do?

Is food available for purchase throughout the day?
There is a family-run concession stand right next to the dancehall, which is open for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. For 2008, we have also arranged for some other food vendors to set up, as the lines for the concession stand were getting a little out of hand. But PLEASE save room for our Saturday night barbecue dinner. Our caffeine-fueled pit crew works all night to smoke the most tender, tastiest brisket you have ever sunk your teeth into. People love the food at the Harvest Classic rally.

Is there room for me to bring my huge RV?
Not really. We have a parking meadow for cars and trucks, but huge RVs have a hard time making the sharp turn required to get into the meadow. KOA and Armadillo Campgrounds are both within 5 miles for those who wish to bring huge RVs. If you have a smallish RV or pop-up trailer, you can park it in the parking meadow along the back fence.

Are hookups available for my RV?
No

Can I bring my dog or pet?
Yes, but all animals must be on leashes and on their best behavior. Please remember that this is a loud event with children present and we would prefer to not have any incidents. The animal's behavior reflects directly upon its owner, so any problems will result in the removal of both from the grounds.

What’s it like camping in the “Motorcycles Only” camping area?
It’s awesome. We don’t allow any cars, trucks, trailers or RVs into this area, so when you wake up, it’s just bikes and tents.
^ top
What are you doing to ensure a safe camping experience?
Due to some isolated obnoxious behavior in the 2007 Harvest Classic camping area and some violent behavior at New Ulm, we have implemented some new security measures. For 2008, we will implement the following security enhancements:
  • We will work closely with the Gilllespie County Sheriffs Office
  • We will hire additional night-time security
  • We have developed a Security Team and will address aggressive behavior
  • We met with the officers and planners of other Texas rallies to align our rules and enforcement policies.
As Organizers, we owe it to everyone who participates in the Harvest Classic to provide a safe environment to rally around these old bikes. The Harvest Classic isn’t a Mad Max re-enactment or a place to sow one’s wild oats. The campground isn’t the burnout stage at the Cabbbage Patch. We want everyone to have a great time, meet new friends, see new bikes, and come away from the rally rally knowing that you have made a difference in a sick child’s life. We have given lots of thought over the year to how we can best help that happen in a manner which is in keeping with the spirit of the rally. If you have any security concerns during the rally, please seek out someone wearing a red staff shirt, and we will resolve the situation immediately.

Are there showers and bathrooms?
Luckenbach doesn’t have any showers, but we have several port-potties. There are showers available for $3 at the Armadillo Farm Campground, which is less than a mile up the road. It’s money well spent! Find out more info here

Can I park my car in the “Motorcycle Only” camping area?
Any car parked in the “Motorcycle Only” camping area will be used as a trials obstacle. This is a motorcycle rally—leave your car at home…or at least leave it in the car parking lot…
^ top
Can I roar around the campground at night, then back my bike up to a row of fine euro-machines, and do a burnout on them, showering them all with dust and grit?
No. You will be detained while the sheriff is called, and you will be banned from attending the Harvest Classic in the future.
^ top
Are vendor spaces available?
No. The Harvest Classic is not a commercial rally. We do offer our sponsors an opportunity to display their goods, but ask that nothing be sold. We want all rally attendees to buy lots of raffle tickets and bid on auction items, because we want to raise as much money for the Candlelighters as we possibly can.
^ top
How much are raffle tickets? Can I buy some in advance? Do I need to be present to win?
Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. They can be purchased at the rally. You have to be present for the raffle drawing in order to collect your prize.

Can I bring out a truckload full of old crap, spread it out on the ground, and sell it at the Harvest Classic?
No. But if you want to hang a “for sale” sign on a bike or two, we don’t mind.
^ top
I ride a (insert brand here). Can I come to the Harvest Classic?
All brands and riders are welcome at this event.
^ top
I ride a scooter. Will I be pelted with rocks and garbage if I come to the Harvest Classic?
